The Norwegian Veterinary Institute marks World Rabies Day

-The most important measure to protect people against rabies, is to vaccinate the dogs, says researcher at the Norwegian Veterinary Institute (NVI) Hannah Joan Jørgensen in this video. NVI marks World Rabies Day today 28. September 2022 together with the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) in Kenya, where Jørgensen participates in a campaign to vaccinate dogs against rabies.

Disproved suspicion of CWD in semi-domestic reindeer in Norway

Based on submitted samples, the Norwegian Veterinary Institute notified the Norwegian Food Safety Authority when a semi-domestic reindeer slaughtered in Norway, Børgefjell national park, tested positive for CWD (Chronic Wasting Disease). The suspicion has now been disproved.
